Island Riders Saddle Club Royalty
Each year, the Island Riders Saddle Club chose Junior and Senior Royalty to represent the saddle club. Serving as Royalty is a fun and rewarding experience. Click the colored text below for additional documents
Who can be a candidate?
Levels of Royalty
Senior Royalty must be 18 years or older.
Junior Royalty must be 17 years or younger
How and when are Royalty chosen?
Royalty will be selected at the January meeting by a club vote
Please prepare a short speech 1-2 minutes, addressing the following:
The winning candidate is chosen based on the most votes. Any ties will be broken with a coin toss.
What are the responsibilities?
Senior and Junior Royalty strive to fulfill the guidelines outlined on the Royalty Checklist. Upon completion of the reign, please assist with contacting club members to aide in bringing awareness for next year's candidates and present a farewell speech addressing the following:
When representing the club, Royalty is requested to wear appropriate attire as dictated by WSCA rules. Royalty are furnished with a sash and a crown or hatband, both of which are to be returned upon completion of the reigning year.

Who can be a candidate?
- All Royalty candidates must be a member of good standing within the club
- Men and women and all youth members
- Consecutive years within the same level are only permitted if no other candidates are running for the corresponding level
- Junior Royalty candidate can run for Senior Royalty in consecutive years

- Your name, age, school, and parents as appropriate
- Your horse name and breed
- How you got interested in horses
- What you like about our saddle club
- Interests you have
- Why do you want to represent our saddle club
- Close with a thank you and how you look forward to representing our club

- What was you most memorable experience as Royalty this year
- Provide any advice to the incoming Royalty contestants
- Close with a thank you for the belt buckle and the opportunity provided
